Srinagar, Dec 16 (KNO): Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking, Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a drug peddler in Pulwama and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a police party from PS Pulwama during naka checking at New Circular Road near Barpora Crossing intercepted a suspicious person. During search, 6 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Mohd Yaseen, son of Mohd Ramzan Bhat, resident of Kareemabad, Pulwama. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 284/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been taken up.
Police remains firmly committed to eradicating the drug menace from the district and appeals to the public to cooperate by reporting any information regarding drug peddling or other anti-social activities to the nearest police station, the statement reads—(KNO)
